The Yoruba Diaspora in the Atlantic World

The African diaspora as a field of scholarly investigation has been studied for more than one hundred years, and that interest shows no sign of waning as the world becomes increasingly integrated. As contemporary ethnic and racial conflicts dot the globe, the lessons of racial and ethnic oppression and the strategies of resistance to exploitation that have characterized the African diaspora for more than five centuries seem all the more relevant.
