About this book
THIS BOOK is in three Parts. The first Part deals with British Rule in Nigeria, whilst the third sets out a blueprint for a stable administra- tion in an independent Nigeria. Part I is an indispensable back- ground to Part III: the one depicting the ‘base degree’ from which the ascent in the other is to be scaled. Part II is an exposition of political, economic, and social principles which are of universal application and validity. It is interposed between Parts I and III in order that the raison d’étre and the rationale for a clean break with the British administrative heritage detailed in Part I, and the impera- tive need for the acceptance of the blueprint in Part III, may be clearly understood and appraised.
